Fireplace installation price — Durham, NC

Last updated: September 24, 2026

What affects the price

When you start planning a fireplace installation, the final bill depends on a few major factors. Choosing between a simple electric unit, a gas insert, or a full wood-burning masonry build creates the biggest difference in cost. You also have to consider the existing setup of your home; running new gas lines or venting through a roof will naturally add labor hours compared to a straightforward swap. Finishing materials like custom stonework or mantel pieces also shift the total.

About this service

The price for a new fireplace depends on the unit you choose, your current chimney setup, and the gas or electrical lines needed. A direct-vent gas unit usually runs lower than a custom masonry build. We evaluate your existing wall structure and ventilation to determine the labor required. Because every home layout varies, costs fluctuate based on complexity and materials. We provide an exact pricing confirmed free on the call.

Most people do not think about fireplaces in the summer, which makes it the best time for a stress-free installation. You will likely find more convenient appointment times and faster project turnaround. It is the perfect window to handle masonry or venting work while the weather is dry and clear, keeping the process clean and efficient for your home.
