Wood fireplace installation cost — Amarillo, TX

Last updated: September 24, 2026

What affects the price

When you start planning a fireplace installation, the final bill depends on a few major factors. Choosing between a simple electric unit, a gas insert, or a full wood-burning masonry build creates the biggest difference in cost. You also have to consider the existing setup of your home; running new gas lines or venting through a roof will naturally add labor hours compared to a straightforward swap. Finishing materials like custom stonework or mantel pieces also shift the total.

About this service

The cost to install a wood fireplace depends on whether you have a pre-existing chimney or need to install a new flue through your roof. Prefabricated units are generally more affordable than traditional brick fireplaces, but installation labor remains the largest variable. We assess your home to see what structural work is necessary to keep your family safe.

Most people do not think about fireplaces in the summer, which makes it the best time for a stress-free installation. You will likely find more convenient appointment times and faster project turnaround. It is the perfect window to handle masonry or venting work while the weather is dry and clear, keeping the process clean and efficient for your home.
